Biography/Description of Research:

Dr. David Thurman is a neurologist and epidemiologist, board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and by the American Board of Preventive Medicine. He has specific subject-matter expertise in clinical and epidemiological research methodologies, evidence-based medicine methodologies, and the epidemiology of epilepsy and traumatic brain injury. He served with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) from 1992-2012 and is currently an Adjunct Professor of Neurology in the Emory University School of Medicine. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and a current member and past chair of the Commission on Epidemiology of the International League Against Epilepsy.
